Because with the majority of people, one wash doesnt do it. have you ever washed your hair, put the conditioner in, and then when you went to brush after the wash it was really tangly, and when it dried it looked kinda greasy and not clean? thats because you didnt lather the shampoo into your hair enough. They say Lather rinse repeat because you should wash your hair twice before applying conditioner.Why do some instructions on the shampoo bottle say lather rinse and repeat? What's the repeat for?
I tell this in my seminars to show the power of one idea. The instructions use to read ';LATHER, RINSE'; The factory had a suggestion box, 1 suggestion was to add the word repeat. Sales went up 30% overnight. Millions of dollars have been made by one word.

the repeat means do th lather n rinse again, sometimes its required esp after a massage or somethin
Probably because they want you to use more so you'll run out faster %26amp; have to buy more.
I have always wondered this..
