Why do you suppose it is so hard to take off the lid of a shampoo/conditioner bottle?

they used to be really easy to remove, just twist off. now it is so hard to remove them, that it is practically dangerous, what with the force i have to use to pull the bottle and lid apart.

i want to be able to recycle my bottles, but i always thought they don't take bottles with lids. (and besides, they can't be rinsed if i can't open them!!).

and also, i want to be able to open it because there is usually still enough for a washing or two left. no point in wasting it.

why do you suppose all the companies are doing this now? so we have to buy more often? or is there another reason? and can i still recycle them if i leave the lid on??Why do you suppose it is so hard to take off the lid of a shampoo/conditioner bottle?
I don't know what you can do about getting another wash out of them, or if you can recycle them with the lids on (although I'm pretty sure you can, as long as it's made of the same material as the rest of the bottle), but if you want to rinse it, try this:

Run some water into your sink, flip the lid, squeeze the bottle as much as you can, then put the bottle into the water and stop squeezing. It should pull enough water into the bottle for you to shake it around and make it clean enough to be recycled. Then just squeeze the bottle again to get the water out. Hope this helps! Why do you suppose it is so hard to take off the lid of a shampoo/conditioner bottle?
i have no clue but i have noticed it too! maybe they do want u to buy more with all the new brands and they want you to stick to their brand
maybe it's an attempt at poison control?? companies are putting so many things in their products now, and making them smell good...a little kid might want to take the lid off and drink it...as far as recycling, i think you can do it with the lid as long as the lid is the same kind of plastic as the bottle
