Shower Gel/Shampoo bottle material?

What type of plastic are the bottles made out of:

Low Density Polythylene (LDPE)

Polypropylane (PP)

Polysterene (PS)

Polyester (PET)

Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)Shower Gel/Shampoo bottle material?
If it's clear/transparent like a 2 liter bottle then it is PETG usually. Cheap to get in food safe form and used a ton for product packaging espeicaly those clear plastic packages that are so hard to get into. Extremely strong.

If it's that soft opaque/translucsent material then it is probably LDPE - this is a great material to blow mold and is used for bottling many times.

PP is what they make children's outdoor toys - it has that hard waxy feel. Very durable and has good flexibility. It is vunerable to UV deterioration over time which eventually makes it brittle.

PS is usually used for product packaging and product displays because it vacuum forms very easily. It's usually white and can be extruded with air to make those blue insulation foam panels you see at home improvement stores in the insulation section.

PVC is used for pipes and in some cases bottles...but it is the densest (and heaviest) of all the plastics. It get's very brittle when thin although they can add softeners to it to make it more pliable.Shower Gel/Shampoo bottle material?
The easiest way to know is to look for the recycling symbols/numbers on the bottle. Assuming you can find one, here's what the numbers tell you:

1 - PET

2 - HDPE

3 - PVC

4 - LDPE

5 - PP

6 - PS

7 - Others

Most bottles are HDPE, LDPE and PP.
