Depends upon the quality of the shampoo, whether it dilutes down and how dirty the dog is.
The shampoo I'm using right now is $45 a gallon... but it dilutes down with water 50:1 .. so I can make 50 gallons from it. I have big dogs (Bernese and Samoyeds) and mix my shampoo in 2 liter soda bottles... I use 1.5 bottles on average per bath (I wash 2x) ... so each bath is about $1.... which is less expensive than buying almost any type of shampoo.
It is not worth my time grooming to use shampoo ';sparingly';.How many dogs will a bottle of shampoo wash?
you would be surprised, you may think your using it sparingly but it soaps up alOt, however a 70 pound dog is a big one so... and if they have fur.. maybe 4.. if they dont have long hair but say 2 or 3 three if they do :)
it depends on your dog's coat. I can use a fourth of a bottle on my Mastiff and on my Dane... but my Pyr, I have to use almost a whole bottle since his coat is so thick and coarse.
My dog is 60lbs and I can wash him about 4 times with that size of shampoo bottle. and I use lots of shampoo.
it also depends on if you are washing a short haired breed or a sheepdog or afgahn hound?
