I have heard of many different things to do with recycled bottles and things, like storage, toys, cold packs, ect. But what do I do with a bottle that is not clear and is a weird size, any ideas?? We are short on money and space in our house and I would like to save this if possible.

You could buy a large (gallon or larger) bottle of shampoo and refill it. Other then that you could use it for home made hand soap? Use it for hand lotion.Recycling big shampoo bottle- pic included?
It's hard to tell how big it is. If it's smaller I like to buy the jumbo bottles and refill the smaller ones for the shower. If it's a jumbo size I'd use it for a homemade lotion or bath oil since it has the squirt pump already. Or cut the top part off and use it for gardening. They're good for starting seeds or scooping dirt.

I keep bottles like this for homemade cleaners - there are some excellent blogs and websites on green cleaners - I haven't bought any cleaning products apart from basic ingredients like bicarbonate of soda, vinegar, liquid soap etc, for over a year and have saved a fortune. Might help you save some pennies!

OK i know it sounds weird but my nephew did some really weird things like that too... i think that it is just somethingthat hey do just to see what will happen ... some times they dont even remember ever doing it even if its only moments after if being done ! ... my nephews have been known to do some really weird things like for instance one time my little nephew Nathan went to the bathroom... (he was 4) his older brother was sent along to make sure that nathan went into the toilet and not on the floor.. he did that a few times.... a few moments later they both cam running out of hte bathroom and nathan cried mommy auntie ! we made and ';X'; ! ya ... i know weird ! they aperently stood on the opposite sides of the toilet and went at the same time ! i have no clue what gets into them some times ! but i know its just a stage... they have grown out of it...now their littlest brother has made it a habbit to pee on the carpet in his room moments after waking up ... no one will ever know why these children do some of the things that they do but they all grow out of it at some point !
any way ..... i hope that your friend talks to her son in a calm way and lets her son know that that was totally unexceptable and asks him to not do it again.. if he does i recomend disapline ( a spanking could be in order once he knows that it is naughty he knows better not to do it again..but it is all up to her whether she takes that coarse of action or not. ) tell her good luck for me !

Martha Stewart had an article and how to on her website about reusing plastic bottles for scoops and they are great out in the potting shed for soils, vermiculite, fertilizer, etc.
I use shoe boxes for all kinds of things. I cover them with leftover wall and wrapping paper and fabric to make gift and storage boxes. The are great for keeping your shoes dust free and just put a picture of the shoes on the front so you know what is inside. I also use them to store check registers and statements, CDs, ribbons (insert a dowel and you can roll ribbon from right inside the box) little things I don't want to be seen or need organized. The lids made wonderful drawer organizers, too.What can I do with empty shampoo bottles/plastic bottles?

(he was 4) his older brother was sent along to make sure that nathan went into the toilet and not on the floor.. he did that a few times.... a few moments later they both cam running out of hte bathroom and nathan cried mommy auntie ! we made and ';X'; ! ya ... i know weird ! they aperently stood on the opposite sides of the toilet and went at the same time ! i have no clue what gets into them some times ! but i know its just a stage... they have grown out of it...now their littlest brother has made it a habbit to pee on the carpet in his room moments after waking up ... no one will ever know why these children do some of the things that they do but they all grow out of it at some point !
any way ..... i hope that your friend talks to her son in a calm way and lets her son know that that was totally unexceptable and asks him to not do it again.. if he does i recomend disapline ( a spanking could be in order once he knows that it is naughty he knows better not to do it again..but it is all up to her whether she takes that coarse of action or not. ) tell her good luck for me !

It turns yellow becuase of the active ingredient inside (Selenium Sulfide). Some shampoo probably leaked outside of the bottle. The non-active ingriedents probably evaporated and the remains were Selenium Sulfide which is a yellow-orange powder. Dont Worrk, Just wash it away with water. Report Abuse

brands versus supermarket brands is
different. The salon brands are far better for
your hair. But if you have relatively healthy
hair and cannot afford to use salon products,
just use the cheap supermarket shampoos and
conditioners. If you're not a hairmodel and don't
need everyone to be constantly staring at your
hair and judging its health - don't worry about
it. Just pay for an occassional salon shampoo
and treatment conditioning once in a while as a
healthy treat for your hair.
Edited to add - do not use sunsilk or pantene
from the supermarket. Try the cheaper
supermarket brand schwartzkoph has made for
the at home users.

I was reading a ';beauty secrets'; book today, and it said cheap shampoos wash as good (or better) as the expensive ones and to just buy those. I've used expensive shampoos (paul mitchell) and either i dont like it, or it doesnt work good for my hair. The only one I can say that I like (and its a wash-out conditioner) is Biolage. I have dry frizzy curly hair so i need lotsa conditioning. But the shampoos aren just meant to ';wash'; your hair and remove biuldup, does nuttin special, at least in my opinion. I think conditioners matter the most.

listen its not the price...........its the ingredients.......one of the most concerning problems I see in the last couple years is a huge problem in young people with hair loss..... and I attribute it to a couple ingredients in certain shampoos......The type of shampoo you use has nothing to do with cost......the most important factor now-a-days is to make sure your shampoo does NOT have SLS Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or sister ALS Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate in it....
those 2 ingredients have come to the surface as destroying hair follicles....which results in hair thinning and hair loss......if you were to call every major shampoo manufacturer right now and asked them what the biggest change they see in shampoo's their answer would be the elimination of those 2 ingredients........
go get your shampoo...............right now............look at the ingredients......

One time last spring I went to Wal-Mart to get some shampoo and I always get the big, odd shaped bottle of Aussie; the one that has the pump thing on top that you have to turn one way or another to pop up (sometimes I can't get it to pop up and I have to pour it out each time like a dunce). Well, I was walking along with the pump thing between my fingers and swinging the bottle back and forth like Little Red Robin Hood swinging her basket and *fling!* the whole top had in the meanwhile come unscrewed and the bottle went flying through the air and then landed *thunk!* standing straight up and down on the floor and the bottle split like a gallon of milk and ran out everywhere. %26gt;_%26lt; Ungh!
Everybody just stopped and looked at me and everything in that area got real quiet. Some people laughed and others just looked at me like I was nuts. I also got some accusing stares like I'd done it on purpose. The worst part was I was also carrying under my arm a twelve pack of toilet tissue. I was so embarrassed.
So no, I no longer stop and smell the shampoo. I just grasp it firmly in my hands and go. Although today I went to the Subway in Wal-Mart and got a footlong tuna with American cheese (on white) with pickles and onions (and Cheetos) and when I got back to work and began eating there was a pink lady bug on my tuna. o_O I've seen orange, grey and white ones, but never pink.

I didn't know Daniel's problem existed. Can you imagine spending $$money on shampoo only to find it interacts with your own body to make you smell like rancid meat? That's terrible. The saddest part is that you would have to have lived through that problem at least once to find out that happens to you!

So, if I need shampoo, I always make sure to smell it, even if it's my regular brand, in case they changed the smell.
I buy most of my products from off of the internet. Most stores in my area do not cater to my ethnic needs. I usually buy products that are fragrance free. Most items I find in the store have harsh chemicals, cheap chemicals, a minuscule amount of needed ingredients which actually yields to no results or bogus and useless ingredients that degrade the inherent condition of my hair or skin and thus reinforcing a contingency of these products. Most products I use on my hair are all natural. Ethnic hair can be quite fragile =/

I buy most of my products from off of the internet. Most stores in my area do not cater to my ethnic needs. I usually buy products that are fragrance free. Most items I find in the store have harsh chemicals, cheap chemicals, a minuscule amount of needed ingredients which actually yields to no results or bogus and useless ingredients that degrade the inherent condition of my hair or skin and thus reinforcing a contingency of these products. Most products I use on my hair are all natural. Ethnic hair can be quite fragile =/

I use shoe boxes for all kinds of things. I cover them with leftover wall and wrapping paper and fabric to make gift and storage boxes. The are great for keeping your shoes dust free and just put a picture of the shoes on the front so you know what is inside. I also use them to store check registers and statements, CDs, ribbons (insert a dowel and you can roll ribbon from right inside the box) little things I don't want to be seen or need organized. The lids made wonderful drawer organizers, too.What can I do with empty shampoo bottles/plastic bottles?

(he was 4) his older brother was sent along to make sure that nathan went into the toilet and not on the floor.. he did that a few times.... a few moments later they both cam running out of hte bathroom and nathan cried mommy auntie ! we made and ';X'; ! ya ... i know weird ! they aperently stood on the opposite sides of the toilet and went at the same time ! i have no clue what gets into them some times ! but i know its just a stage... they have grown out of it...now their littlest brother has made it a habbit to pee on the carpet in his room moments after waking up ... no one will ever know why these children do some of the things that they do but they all grow out of it at some point !
any way ..... i hope that your friend talks to her son in a calm way and lets her son know that that was totally unexceptable and asks him to not do it again.. if he does i recomend disapline ( a spanking could be in order once he knows that it is naughty he knows better not to do it again..but it is all up to her whether she takes that coarse of action or not. ) tell her good luck for me !

If it's clear/transparent like a 2 liter bottle then it is PETG usually. Cheap to get in food safe form and used a ton for product packaging espeicaly those clear plastic packages that are so hard to get into. Extremely strong.
If it's that soft opaque/translucsent material then it is probably LDPE - this is a great material to blow mold and is used for bottling many times.
PP is what they make children's outdoor toys - it has that hard waxy feel. Very durable and has good flexibility. It is vunerable to UV deterioration over time which eventually makes it brittle.
PS is usually used for product packaging and product displays because it vacuum forms very easily. It's usually white and can be extruded with air to make those blue insulation foam panels you see at home improvement stores in the insulation section.

Ask any barman in a student's union and he or she will point you in the direction of a hundred beer bottles with no labels on them. As long as she's not swapping the labels on your tinned food I wouldn't worry too much!

Martha Stewart had an article and how to on her website about reusing plastic bottles for scoops and they are great out in the potting shed for soils, vermiculite, fertilizer, etc.
I use shoe boxes for all kinds of things. I cover them with leftover wall and wrapping paper and fabric to make gift and storage boxes. The are great for keeping your shoes dust free and just put a picture of the shoes on the front so you know what is inside. I also use them to store check registers and statements, CDs, ribbons (insert a dowel and you can roll ribbon from right inside the box) little things I don't want to be seen or need organized. I use the new herbal essence in the wavy bottle, it's $3.00 per bottle and they have it in all different formulas for different hair types... it smells great.

Once you try it you will never use normal shampoo and conditioner again. It really makes a difference to buy salon products.

Shampoo that costs a lot just isn't that different from the cheap stuff. Once when I was camping I forgot shampoo and had to use dish soap on my hair, and it was just fine. I would not spend that kind of money on shampoo no matter if it worked or not as you don't know if it will work for you and there are cheaper alternatives. Just look on the web for that shampoo then check the ingredients and find a cheaper one that has the same ingredients in it. You next best bet is to look on ebay to find it.
Cheaper to do like Brittany and shave it off! I'd say you're merely susceptible to advertising hype, that can be very costly so try buying ';middle of the road'; instead.. not cheaperst, but not that ludicrously high end stuff either!
It'd be a cold day before I ever spent $45 on a bottle of shampoo. I use Pantene products on my hair exclusively %26amp; I'm very pleased with them. I use the shampoo that has built-in conditioner in it. I buy the largest bottle they make %26amp; pay close to $3 for it %26amp; a little of it goes a long way. I have really fine hair also %26amp; Pantene makes a shampoo for ';fine hair'; I believe, but I use the shampoo for normal hair along with the Pantene spray in/ leave in gel. Works great!!!!

Shampoo that costs a lot just isn't that different from the cheap stuff. Once when I was camping I forgot shampoo and had to use dish soap on my hair, and it was just fine. The difference between shampoos is largely hype, snob value, and ad expenses. Clean hair is attractive, no matter how you get it clean.What is this world coming to?? I would not spend that kind of money on shampoo no matter if it worked or not as you don't know if it will work for you and there are cheaper alternatives. Just look on the web for that shampoo then check the ingredients and find a cheaper one that has the same ingredients in it. You next best bet is to look on ebay to find it.
Cheaper to do like Brittany and shave it off! I'd say you're merely susceptible to advertising hype, that can be very costly so try buying ';middle of the road'; instead.. not cheaperst, but not that ludicrously high end stuff either!
It'd be a cold day before I ever spent $45 on a bottle of shampoo. I use Pantene products on my hair exclusively %26amp; I'm very pleased with them. I use the shampoo that has built-in conditioner in it. I buy the largest bottle they make %26amp; pay close to $3 for it %26amp; a little of it goes a long way. I have really fine hair also %26amp; Pantene makes a shampoo for ';fine hair'; I believe, but I use the shampoo for normal hair along with the Pantene spray in/ leave in gel. Works great!!!!

Think of what else you spend $45 on, in order to answer your question. Personally, no-- I won't spend that much on shampoo, but I get taken for a sucker on lots of products that speak to my insecurities.

I`m leaving in a day and I have my suitcase packed and I just realized I have a lotttt of ';liquids'; in my suitcase. I have shaving gel, hair spray and a bunch of my own shampoo and conditioner. None of this is in my carry on though, its in my main luggage. Is this acceptable? I want to buy the Redken all soft shampoo and conditioner but i don't get why some of the all soft shampoo bottles look different from others. for example some are gold and some are a clear dark brown.Why do some of the Redken All Soft shampoo bottles look different?
I use Redken myself and theres a difference between the bottles. The dark brown kind of golden one is the one I use and its SMOOTH DOWN. The lighter tannish brown one is ALL SOFT. Those are really the only two ones that have close names and colors. All the other redken bottles are blue and red. If youre looking for all soft its more like a regular brown bottle and not gold. The Clear Dark Brown = Shampoo
The Gold = Conditioner
or the other way around hehe.
