Can I recycle my old shampoo and conditioner bottles?

And, could I just put them in my regular recycle (paper and plastic), or would I have to take them to a recycling center? Can I recycle my old shampoo and conditioner bottles?
There are seven (7) categories of plastics (or resins). Check for the recycle symbol on your bottles. The recycle company that services our area will only take type #1 and type #2 plastics for curbside pick-up. Chances are that your shampoo and conditioner bottles are either #1 or #2 as those two categories account for 90% of resin packaging.

Otherwise, check the link below for a local place to recycle other resin/plastic types. Can I recycle my old shampoo and conditioner bottles?
check the bottle, but I would suspect they would be able to be recycled
Check the bottom of the bottle, it will have the recycle symbol on it if it's recyclable.

I'm able to do mixed recycling where I live, so I put everything that is recyclable in paper bags. Pretty cool!
Don't worry about it. Just burn the plastic ones in a burn barrel.
look for the recycle symbol on the bottle or ask you recycle center what numbers they take. that should be on the bottle also i think 7 is the highest number? you should double check, you can recycle almost anything even some bags your bread comes in is recyclable :)
In New York, these items can be recycled once you rinse it.
