How big of shampoo bottles and stuff like that can you bring on a airplane?

For carry on bags, it's 3.4 fluid oz. and they go by whats on the manufacturers label, not by how much is left inside. And in a quart size bag.

In checked baggage, you can bring as much as you want. How big of shampoo bottles and stuff like that can you bring on a airplane?
Any size, but it must go inside your luggage that you CHECK-IN. Try not to take such a big bottle of shampoo and conditioner, it just make your luggage heavier. I'm sure where you are going they have shampoo and conditioner, so I recommend that you take some of those little travel bottles. Report Abuse

3 ounces.

And it's not 3 ounces of liquid -- it's liquid in no more than 3 oz containers. So a teensy bit of shampoo in a bottle larger than 3 oz will be confiscated.

And don't forget the single quart-size ziploc bag!
3 oz bottle....
Each bottle can be up to 3.2 ounces, and all the bottles must fit in 1 1-quart-size clear plastic bag. You must take that bag out of your carry-on for screening.
The answers so far are for the USA, if you travel in a country that uses metric the sizes are:

100 ml bottles in a 1 liter plastic bag. (About the same size, but do not push the limit when you travel from the one system to the other and back.)

Best poor some shampoo in a tester bottle, or buy a tester bottle of your preferred brand, and put the big bottle in your checked luggage if you go for a long trip.
